The United States Department of Veterans Affairs Announces the Availability of Grant Training Assistance for Governments and Nonprofit Corporations Serving Homeless Veterans
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has selected Public Resources to conduct in-person and online training for its Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program (GPD). Public Resources will reach out to all VISN Homeless Coordinators, but please feel free to contact them directly to develop a training near you.
In one day of training there will be two distinct training sessions, or you can request morning and afternoon sessions of the same training.
- Morning: GPD training focused on real estate development and budgeting, and the grant's project plan and social services. The goals of the morning session are GPD review and reducing the anxiety level for new applicants.
- Afternoon: A step-by-step discussion of the grant and budgeting. The goal is a thorough review of the grant application for experienced organizations and grant writers.
Public Resources has developed service programs for homeless veterans and non-veterans since 1988, and has successfully written and secured grant funding from agencies serving homeless veterans including the VA, the Departments of Housing and Urban Development and Labor, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
