"Challenges and Solutions to Housing Minnesota's Veterans"

When: September 24, from 10:00 a.m.-Noon.

Where: Minnesota Veterans Home-Minneapolis, 5101 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis.

How can Minnesota support our veterans?  Examine current and future challenges to housing Minnesota's veterans.  It is anticipated that there will be a growing need for housing and services as veterans return from serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflicts while the needs of vets from previous conflicts oftentimes go unmet.  Speakers include housing and service providers, and state, local, and federal policymakers.

This conference free and open to the public.

Participating agencies and organizations include: Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, Minnesota Veterans Home, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), Minneapolis/Hennepin County Community Advisory Board on Homelessness, Barbara Schneider Foundation, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, Minnesota Interagency Task Force on Homelessness, and Minnesota Office for Ending Long-Term Homelessness.
