During this teleconference, Ryan Weber, of Washington, D.C.’s Stokes & Company, P.C., discussed the A-133 audit, including how the A-133 audit differs from an organizational audit, interviewing auditors, and how to prepare for an audit.

Grant and Per Diem Application: An Introduction - Oct. 1, 2008
During this teleconference, Melanie Lilliston, NCHV Director of Technical Assistance and Finance, provided general information and guidance on the GPD program and application process. Lilliston discussed eligibility, when applications are typically due, the NOFA process, and how to prepare your organization for the GPD application process. This call provided an introduction for individuals and homeless veteran service providers who want to learn more about the GPD program and/or planning to apply for GPD funding for the first time.

This call addressed the Homeless Female Veterans and Homeless Veterans with Families grant, which is for organizations that will provide comprehensive services to address the complex problems facing homeless female veterans and/or veterans with families who are eligible to transition into gainful employment.

Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program - May 19, 2010
During this call, NCHV staff discussed the grant competition for the U.S. Department of Labor's Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program, which is for organizations that will support incarcerated veterans "at risk" of homelessness.

In an era where funding is limited and service requests remain at an all-time high, organizations need to be creative in how they use their resources. This teleconference discussed cutting-edge research on the economic instability of homeless female veterans and strategies for overcoming outreach and placement barriers in the field.

Becoming an Employment Network - Nov. 9, 2011
On this call, Kristen Willard, who leads the Ticket to Work Technical Assistance and Support Center at MAXIMUS, and Meg Little, an Account Manager for the Ticket to Work Program working on the Operations Support Manager contract for the SSA, covered the benefits of becoming an EN and the application process. Two HVRP grantees, Volunteers of America- Florida and YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, shared their experiences integrating EN into their programs to serve their clients.

Employment Networks: Responding to the RFQ - Dec. 15, 2011
Becoming an Employment Network (EN) through the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program is a useful way to increase resources and funding for the employment services offered to homeless veterans in your programs. This call specifically focused on the process of and strategies for responding to the Request for Quotations (RFQ).

Developing Homeless Courts - Jan. 12, 2012
This call, co-sponsored by the American Bar Association's Commission on Homelessness and Poverty, discussed the creation and expansion of Homeless Court Programs to serve homeless veterans.
